Project: Natural History Museum, Darwin Centre
About
The Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum is a state-of-the-art science and collections facility. It was opened in 2009 as part of the 200 year anniversary of the birth of Darwin. This project spanned three years starting in 2008 and with continuing enhancements into 2010. A visitor will travel through the cocoon shaped building, interacting with a wide-range of kiosk applications and other interactive material. More information is available here.
Brief
Working with ON101 as the lead client-side developer. A large repository of generic base code was developed in PureMVC, which each kiosk application could inherit and build upon. Each touch-screen application presents high definition graphics and videos as games and animated interfaces, and integrates with the NHM NaturePlus digital content web service.
